Here is another Horner Parnter’s desk but this one is a much meatier form with four griffins guarding the corners of the desk. From the pictures it is not possible to see the condition of the top. This desk is made of mahogany and the dimensions are 56″ L x 37″ W. Bidding starts at $5,775.00 and expected range is $17,500 to $27,500. Listing can be seen here.

R.J. Horner Partner’s Desk

Up for auction is a Horner Partner’s Desk from Grandview Antiques and Auctions. This is a fairly classic Horner item that would be welcome in any collection. This one appears to have its original finish but needs a very good cleaning. Dimensions are 29.5″h x 55″l x 38″d. Starting price is $2,250 and expected range is $4,500 to $6,000. RJ Horner Man of the Mountain Bookcase

Three section bookcase with bent glass door in the center. Incredibly carved lifelike men on either side of the bookcase ends. Egg and dart moulding around the glass doors. It has some interesting looking feet but I can’t make out the shape. Attributed to R.J. Horner by Bob Courtney Auctions, the seller. Dimensions: 70″ H x 90″ W x 19″ D Age: C. 1880 Material: Mahogany. Bidding starts at $9,900 with expected range $30,000-$40,000. Listing can be seen here. Sells on March 24th.

R.J. Horner Figural China Cabinet

Up for sale is an RJ Horner Quartersawn Oak China cabinet from the 1880’s timeframe. Looks to be in good original condition with original wavy glass. I like the Caryatid/Atlas juxtaposition. Often you see pieces with similar figures on both sides. I’ll leave the description to Bradford’s Antiques, the seller, but the listing ends March 16th.
